Description

This is a house, likely built in the later 17th century, with extensions and alterations made in the late 19th or early 20th century. The exterior is rendered brick, whitened, with a slate roof. There are chimney stacks at the house’s junction and both gables, with the right-hand gable stack corbelled. Originally built with a baffle-entry plan to two bays, it has a later addition on the left side. The front of the house has been heavily altered in the late 19th or early 20th century, including a two-storey gabled porch in the centre. The original entrance, previously located at the right-hand end, has been blocked and concealed. The rear wall features a small firewindow with a short band above it, as well as several other windows, including two sliding sash windows.

Inside, the section of the house in the third bay contains an inglenook with a heck, a chamfered bressummer, a two-light mullioned fire-window (with one light blocked), and a salt cupboard bearing the inscription "P; W : I". There are also two ovolo-moulded and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. The second bay has a timber-framed partition and a chamfered beam, and blocked mullion windows are visible on the first floor.
