Description

Tuson’s Farmhouse, now a house, dates to the 17th century and may have originally incorporated part of the adjoining property at No. 88. The building is constructed of brick, rendered and painted white, with a slate roof and a ridge chimney. It has a baffle-entry, 2-bay plan. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a central gabled porch featuring side benches. The ground floor has modern 2-light casement windows, one to the left and two to the right, while the first floor has two 3-light casement windows. A small 1st-floor window is visible in the right gable, the second with a brick hoodmould. A single-storey extension is present at the rear. Inside, the first bay features an inglenook fireplace with a former hearth and a deep bressummer, along with stop-moulded beams. The second bay shows a beam and some ceiling joists which suggest an earlier construction phase.
