Description
Higher Gazegill Farmhouse and the adjoining barn were built in the late 18th century. They are constructed from sandstone rubble and topped with a stone slate roof. The farmhouse has a double-pile layout with a central entrance and chimneys at each end. It stands two storeys tall and features two bays. The windows are tripartite, framed with plain stone surrounds and square mullions. The front door is also framed with a plain stone surround and has a hood made of two pitched stone slates. The barn's front wall includes a wide entrance with a segmental arched head, a window to the right with a plain stone surround, and two pitching holes beneath the eaves, each with plain stone surrounds.
