Description
Glebe House is a house, formerly a vicarage, that likely dates from the late 18th century with some alterations made in the mid 19th century. It is constructed of rendered rubble with sandstone dressings and features a slate roof.
The building consists of three parallel ranges that run east-west and is two storeys high. The windows have plain stone surrounds and hoods. The south front has three bays, with ground floor windows that are sashed and first floor windows that have glazing bars; the left-hand first floor window is sashed while the others are modern. The east wall features three gables, each with coping and a chimney. The southern gabled section has two bays, with first floor windows that are sashed and have glazing bars, and a ground floor window that is also sashed. The right-hand bay includes a door with a reeded surround and hood, and an inner door that has a fanlight with intersecting glazing bars. This doorcase appears to have been altered and is of a late 18th or early 19th century style. The middle gabled section has two sashed windows on the ground floor and a sashed window with glazing bars on the left of the first floor. The northern gable features a sashed window with glazing bars on the ground floor. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
