Description
This is a farmhouse, built in the 18th century, with the date '1782' inscribed within the door pediment. It is constructed of sandstone rubble, rendered at the front, with sandstone dressings and a stone slate roof. The farmhouse has a double-pile plan (meaning two rows of rooms) and end chimney stacks. The front elevation has a symmetrical design, with two storeys and three bays, featuring projecting quoins. Modern sash windows with simulated glazing bars are set within plain stone surrounds. The front door, with nine raised and fielded panels and a fanlight above, is framed by a plain stone surround topped with a triangular pediment supported by console brackets. Stone gutter brackets are present, along with a moulded band just below. At the rear of the building, some windows have reused 17th-century double-chamfered surrounds. Ground floor rear windows have two or three lights, while first-floor windows have two lights. A tall stair window between them features two transoms and a semi-circular head. The door surround at the rear is chamfered with a segmental head. Small porches, one on either side of the main entrance, feature single stone panels and moulded, open segmental pediments supported by moulded brackets.
