Description
The tomb of Robert Parker is located in St Helen's Churchyard, approximately 1 metre east of the chancel. This chest tomb, made of sandstone, commemorates Robert Parker who died on 21st March 1718. An inscribed slab notes that he was the second son of Edward Parker of Browsholme and established the Widows' Hospital in Waddington. The tomb features carved panels on its sides, with a moulded base and cornice. The west side is significantly worn, while the east side displays flowers alongside a hand and sickle. The south side includes outer panels with carved skulls and crossed bones, along with a central panel that features the Parker coat of arms. The north side is similar but has a central panel that only displays a shield.
