Description
This is a row of five small townhouses located at St Ignatius Square, built around 1840 and later altered. The houses are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring sandstone dressings and a slate roof. Each house has a double-depth plan and is single-fronted, with individual back extensions. They are two storeys high with cellars, and each house has two windows on the first floor. The design includes a stone plinth, a deep band at the first floor, a plain frieze, and a moulded gutter cornice. The doorways are positioned to the left of each house, framed by moulded stone architraves and cornices supported by consoles with guttae. The ground floor features one window with a raised sill and a wedge lintel with a keystone, while the first floor has two windows with raised sills. The windows at No. 3 are all sashed without glazing bars, with the upper leaves being smaller, while the other houses have altered windows. The row has ridge chimneys, but the rear and interiors were not inspected.
