Description
Nos. 11 and 12 Regent Street are a pair of small town houses built around 1860. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and a slate roof. Each house has a shallow double-depth plan and is double-fronted, featuring two storeys with three windows for No. 11 and four for No. 12. The facades are symmetrical, with a plain frieze and a moulded gutter cornice. The central doorway leads to a through lobby, with an additional window above for No. 12, while both facades maintain symmetry. The doorways are framed with moulded architraves and cornices on consoles, and each has a panelled door with overlights; the lobby doorway has a plain surround. The windows have raised sills and wedge lintels, with No. 11 featuring sashed windows without glazing bars and No. 12 having 12-pane sashes. There are heads of cellar windows to the right at No. 11 and on both sides at No. 12. The houses have ridge chimneys and very shallow back yards at the rear. The interior has not been inspected. These houses match Nos. 13 and 14 and Nos. 15 and 16 to the right, and complement Nos. 2 to 8 opposite.
