Description
Hogarth Cottage and the adjoining barn is a house that possibly dates from the late 18th century, incorporating dressings from the 17th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high. The front door features a plain stone surround, with a three-light chamfered mullioned window to the left and a similar two-light window on the first floor. The left gable has a chimney and a one-light chamfered window located under the eaves on the first floor. At the rear, there is a two-light chamfered mullioned window on the ground floor and a one-light window on the first floor. The left end of the barn, which has a continuous roof extending to the right, has been converted to become part of the house. This section includes a chamfered door surround that has been blocked to create a window, along with a first-floor window featuring brick reveals. Further to the right, the barn has openings with plain reveals.
