Description
Golgotha is a cottage with attached garden walls, dating from around 1800 and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed from uncoursed sandstone rubble that has been painted white, with a slate roof and a chimney stack on the left side. The building has a double-depth plan, featuring three storeys and one bay at the front, while the rear has two storeys.
The entrance is located to the right and includes a light wooden porch, which is set beneath a large lintel that extends to the left over a blocked former opening, possibly a doorway or part of a wider doorway. On the ground floor, there is a two-light casement window slightly offset to the left, with a similar window on each floor above; the upper window is notably small.
The attached garden wall at the front is made of large coursed sandstone rubble, also painted white, and stands approximately one metre high, topped with ridged coping. This structure is included for its group value.
