Description

The bridge over the ornamental lake in Williamson Park was built around 1909 and designed by Belcher and Joass. It is constructed of sandstone ashlar and features a single semi-elliptical arch with scrolled keystones. The channelled rustication of the voussoirs extends horizontally outward. The stone parapets have moulded copings and include three balustraded openings on each side. This bridge replaced an earlier timber structure and was part of the improvements to Williamson Park, which Lord Ashton funded in 1904.
