Description
Chapel House is a house, likely built in the mid-19th century, with some elements from the 18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a slate roof. The building is two storeys high. The south facade features two bays with tall sashed windows that have glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. To the right on the first floor, there is a similar window at a slightly lower level that illuminates a stair. On the ground floor, there is a door with a plain stone surround. There is an additional bay on the right, which appears to be an early 20th-century conversion. This bay has a tripartite sashed window with glazing bars and a plain stone surround with flat-faced mullions on the first floor, and French windows on the ground floor. The gables have copings with kneelers, and there is a chimney on the left-hand gable.
At the rear, there is a wing that likely dates from the 18th century. On the first floor of this wing, there are three sashed windows with plain stone surrounds and no glazing bars. To the right of the porch on the ground floor, there are two windows with plain reveals, and to the left, there is a three-light flush chamfered mullioned window typical of the mid-18th century. The single-storey gabled porch features a cyma-moulded coping with kneelers.
