Description
17 and 19 Moor Lane is a house that has been converted into a shop and office. It dates from the late 17th century and has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from sandstone rubble and is rendered at the front, topped with a slate roof and brick chimney caps. It has two storeys and a low third storey below the eaves, with two irregular bays.
On the ground floor, there are two shop fronts featuring a timber fascia and a timber pilaster on the left. The left-hand window on the first floor is a sashed window, while the right-hand window is a 20th-century casement, both having plain reveals. On the second floor, there is a casement window with plain reveals on the left, and on the right, there is a two-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window typical of the late 17th century, which is partly obscured by a sign board. The gable chimneys are capped with brick. At the rear, there is a workshop extension on the right-hand side.
