Description

The sundial, dated 1718, is located approximately 6 metres southwest of the Church of St James. It is a square sandstone pillar that stands about 1.5 metres high. The sundial features a base consisting of two octagonal steps and a moulded square cap that supports an octagonal plate with a plain triangular gnomon. The faces of the pillar are adorned with tall shouldered panels, and there are small panels at the top that are lettered in relief with "17", "18", "ER", and "P:R".
