Description
Lower Fenny Fold Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1759, as indicated by a beam in the housepart, with an extension added in the late 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble with large quoins, currently painted white, and features a stone slate roof with gable chimney stacks. The original structure consists of two units and two storeys, with a two-storey addition and a single-storey outshut covering the left half of the front. Most windows have large squared jambs, heads, and sills, while those in the rear wall also include flush mullions, although the ground floor windows have been altered.
Inside, the left bay is divided into a parlour, which contains a large ex situ moulded beam from the 16th century or earlier, and an oak newel staircase. The housepart in the right bay features two large chamfered beams, with the first beam incised with '1759' on its chamfer.
