Description
The terrace walls and steps forming the west boundary to the garden of Wigan Hall were likely built between 1875 and 1880, possibly designed by George Edmund Street. They are made of finely-jointed coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings. The walls run along the east (upper) and west (lower) sides of a gravelled terrace that is approximately 50 meters long, located to the west of Wigan Hall. Each wall stands about 1 meter high and features a flight of steps at both the north and south ends. These structures are included for their group value with Wigan Hall.
