Description
The railway bridge over Frog Lane in Wigan was likely built around 1838 for the North Union Railway Company. It is constructed of sandstone ashlar with rock-faced abutments and features a skew design. The bridge has a large semicircular arch made of run-out rusticated voussoirs, a chamfered band, and parapets that include central and terminal piers, topped with flat coping.
