Description
Newcroft House is an early 19th century house located on the north side of Stretford Road in Urmston. The house is constructed of Flemish bond brick, with a slate roof. It follows a double-depth central-staircase plan, encompassing three bays over two storeys, and presents a symmetrical elevation with a stone plinth. Bays one and three are slightly advanced, featuring a central six-panel door surmounted by a leaded fanlight. The front facade has five 16-pane sash windows, a first-floor sill band, and flat brick arches above. A projecting eaves gutter runs along the roofline. Gable chimney stacks are visible. A lean-to greenhouse is attached to the left return. The rear of the house features horizontally sliding sash windows. Internally, the house retains panelled doors, enriched plaster cornices, and a dogleg staircase with plain balusters.
