Description
Lower Hyde Green is a house that was formerly two cottages, along with adjoining farm buildings, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two bays at the front and three at the rear, with two storeys and a projecting farm building wing to the right, which continues from the cottages.
The structure has a projecting plinth and stone quoins. The first bay includes a flat-faced stone mullion window that is partly obscured by a porch, along with a two-light chamfered mullion window on the first floor. At the rear, there are two five-light flat-faced stone mullion windows, with the ground floor windows recessed, as well as four windows with square-cut surrounds and one blocked window.
On the south gable of the farm building, there are two square-cut stone door surrounds, while the west gable features an owl hole, along with loft hatches and a blocked door.
