Description

Trafford Road Bridge is a swing bridge built around 1894, designed by engineer Sir Leader Williams. It is constructed of wrought iron with brick and ashlar abutments. The bridge features bow-string lattice girders on either side of the roadway, which are connected at the top by smaller lattice girders. It is a large structure that pivots on a turntable located on the north bank, making it off-center.
