Description

Bank Top Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed from roughly coursed and squared stone, topped with a stone flagged roof. The building is low with two storeys and features a three-window range. It has a three-room baffle-entry plan, with a central entrance located in a gabled porch and an additional doorway to the right. The windows have all been renewed, likely in their original openings. There are stacks at both end walls. Inside, the central room contains a fireplace with a plain stone surround. The chamfered ceiling beams rest on a bressumer and, to the right, on re-used jowelled posts that have been cut down. Most of the roof timbers have been retained.
