Description
This is a cottage attached to the west end of Northern House, dating from the late 18th century and altered over time. It is built of handmade brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof. The cottage features a double-depth, two-unit plan with a back extension and stands two low storeys tall, with a cellar.
The front has a two-window range, with a segmental-headed doorway slightly offset to the left of center, accessed by two steps. This doorway has a 20th-century door and a pitched wooden canopy above it. To the left of the doorway is a square segmental-headed window, and to the right is a low segmental-headed window; both were boarded up at the time of the survey. There is also a square-headed doorway with a 20th-century stable door at the right-hand end. Under the eaves, there are two low three-light casement windows, which are damaged. The cottage has a plain wooden eaves cornice and a chimney located at the left gable. It forms a group with No. 25 (Northern House), which is attached at the right-hand end.
