Description

The Wellington Statue is a monument dedicated to the Duke of Wellington, created in 1856 by the sculptor Matthew Noble. It features an ashlar plinth and pedestal with a rectangular plan. The base consists of three steps, and the plinth has projected corners that support seated statues of four allegorical figures. Atop the pedestal is a standing statue of the Duke. The sides of the plinth include relief panels, while the pedestal has inscriptions on its sides.
