Probably a wholesale garment warehouse. c.1870-80, altered at ground floor. Iron frame, with cladding of sandstone ashlar and dressings of polished granite (roof concealed). Rectangular plan. Venetian Gothic style. Four storeys and attic, 4:1:4 windows, symmetrical, plus a 4-window gabled extension to the left; with sill-bands to all floors, super-imposed panelled pilasters to the centre, prominent bracketed eaves cornice with ornamental wrought-iron cresting, round-headed dormers and a spirelet to the right-hand corner. Ground floor altered. Single-light windows in the centre, arcaded 4-light windows to each side, those at 1st floor round-headed and those at 2nd floor stilted-segmental, both with shafts of polished granite, and linked hoodmoulds, and those at 3rd floor shouldered: all these windows sashed without glazing bars. Five round-headed dormer windows with moulded heads raised at the apex. Right-hand return in similar style. Extension at left end differing in details. Interior not inspected. Forms group with Wholesale Fish Market building opposite (Nos 9 to 19, q.v.) and with returned side of Nos 75 and 77 High Street to the left. Included for group value.
