Description
Brick Farmhouse, formerly listed as Brick House Farmhouse, is dated on a tablet "Adam/Gafkell/Octob 21/1681". The building is constructed of brick, although the front is rendered. It has two storeys and features three brick-mullioned windows, some of which have been filled in or altered to casements. There is a door located between the first and second windows, with a 20th-century glazed porch added. The farmhouse displays relief band decoration featuring lozenges, crosses, inverted hearts, and similar decoration on the right-hand gable end, which has arched-light brick windows that are blocked. The attic retains original blocked stone mullioned windows and roof trusses. This farmhouse is thought to be the oldest brick-built farmhouse in the area.
