Description

The railway bridge by Kearsley Station was built in 1837 by Jesse Hartley for the Manchester and Bolton Railway. It is constructed of rock-faced stone and features an elliptical arch with a fielded panel above. The bridge has a corbelled parapet made of dressed stone, and the raking abutments have tumbled-in coping. On the north-east side, there are later iron strainer beams.
