Description
The Former New Jerusalem Church, built in 1844, is a chapel that later became the Elim Pentecostal Church and is now a retail warehouse. It was designed by James Greenhalgh. The building is constructed of brick and has a slate roof.
The exterior features a pedimented gable facing the street, with a central doorway framed by a Tuscan architrave and flanked by tall round-arched windows. Above the doorway is a similar round-arched window, and there is a datestone at the apex of the gable. The wood cornice of the pediment appears to have been renewed. The building has four-window returns, which also feature round-arched windows, all with margin lights.
Inside, no original features remain.
