Description
The Three Pigeons Public House, located at the corner of Tanners Lane, was built in 1831 as the original booking office for the Warrington and Newton Railway, with the route of the lines still visible. The building features a later 19th-century public house frontage added to the ground floor. It is constructed of brick with boxed eaves and stands two storeys tall. The ground floor is stuccoed and includes segmental arched windows and round-arched doors, along with pilasters and a cornice. The upper floor has three 16-paned sash windows facing Tanners Lane and one 12-paned sash window facing Dallam Lane. The rear section to the right along Dallam Lane is three storeys high but maintains the same eaves line and roof as the front.
