Description
The Bridgewater Canal features a case to a water point located on the south bank of the canal, 15 metres west of Agden Bridge. This structure, likely from the mid-Victorian period, is made of cast iron and is decorated with traditional canal rose motifs. It has a heavily cast pillar-case that is square in shape, with cast iron doors at the front and rear, which are mounted on ornate hinges. The case stands one metre high and has projecting moulded canted corners, topped with a flat pyramidal shape that has battlemented edges. This case is a notable example of Victorian iron casting.
