Description

The wall, likely dating from the 18th century or earlier, encloses the gardens of Stretton Hall on its south-east, south-west, and north-west sides. Constructed primarily of coursed red sandstone, the wall stands approximately 1 meter high along the south-east and south-west garden boundaries. On the north-west side, it rises to 3 meters in height and incorporates buttressing on both sides. The wall is stepped in two sections with rounded ends to provide views across the Dee valley from the hall’s garden front and the left end of the building.
