Description

This building is a row of three court houses, likely constructed around 1864 by Edward Hodkinson. It is made of brown brick and features a grey slate roof. The structure is L-shaped and faces south, with a recessed bay on the west side, designed in a late Georgian style.

The exterior consists of three storeys. The windows are recessed sashes with moulded stone sills, similar to those found at Nos. 43, 45, and 47 Row, and have cambered brick beads. The south face of the recessed bay has a replaced four-pane sash on the first storey, a 16-pane sash on the second storey, and a formerly 16-pane sash with horizontal glazing bars removed on the third storey. The west side of the main block features a door with six flush panels for No. 45A, set in a wooden case with panelled pilasters and a simple entablature. The main south face has four sashes per storey, with a boarded door of four flush panels for No. 45B in a simple pilastered case on the first storey. The second storey has a 16-pane sash with some bars removed, and the third storey has a lower leaf with eight panes and an upper leaf with four panes, also with some bars removed. The projecting east wing, No. 47A, has a boarded sash and a boarded door with an overlight on the first storey, a 12-pane sash with horizontal bars removed on the second storey, and a boarded sash on the third storey. The eaves feature a cyma cornice, and there are three ridge chimneys along with a chimney on the southern half-gable of the east wing.

The interiors could not be inspected.
