Description
This barn, located 50 meters north of Court Farmhouse, dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century but was rebuilt in the 19th century. It features a red sandstone plinth and is constructed of orange brick in English garden wall bond. The roof is made of corrugated iron. The barn has a rectangular three-bay plan, although it has been reduced by one bay. On the south side, there are a pair of board doors beneath a wooden lintel, and the right gable end is boarded. Inside, there are two pairs of very triangular full crucks, with a tiebeam that projects to the former wall plate, a collar, and sprockets that support the trenched purlins. A 20th-century shippon has been added as an east range, but it is not of special interest.
