Description

This is a row of three townhouses, dating from the later 18th century. They are built of brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with hipped grey slate roofs, the ridge running at a right angle to the front. Each house has a forecourt with wrought-iron railings and stone steps leading down to a cellar door. The cellar fronts are lined with render. The front doors have three, four, or four steps leading up to them, respectively. The doors themselves are constructed of four fielded panels above two flush panels, and include ornamented, radial-bar fanlights with pedimented cases. The cases on numbers 7 and 9 have fluted and gadrooned pilasters, while number 11 features attached, slender, unfluted Roman Doric columns. The windows have painted stone sills, a sill band to the second storey, and wedge lintels. Each house has tripartite flush sash windows, with 4/12/4 panes per storey, though some have been replaced and now have horns. A painted stone cornice and parapet run along the top of the buildings, and there are two brick chimneys. The rear of the properties features a variety of sash windows, with a leaded casement window in the attic of number 7. The interior has not been inspected.
