Description

The structure is a retaining wall located on the west side of the bowling green, adjacent to the Hermitage. It is likely a remnant of the precinct wall of the collegiate church of St John Baptist and dates back to the 14th century, although it has been repaired over time. The wall is constructed from red sandstone and features coursed squared rubble along with buttresses.
