Description

Anne's Cottage is a house with origins in the 17th century, rebuilt in the early 19th century and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of washed English garden wall bond brick, with a thatched roof, except for the right-hand bay which has a Kerridge stone-slate roof and stone ridge. There are three brick chimneys. The lower openings are 20th-century replacements, but a small-pane two-light and one-light iron casement window in the half-storey is swept over by the thatched roof. The left-hand gable retains remains of a timber truss. The interior is reported to contain full cruck trusses, though it has not been inspected.
