Description

The Market Tavern Public House is a Grade II listed building located on Market Square. Originally dated to 1767, it was once a single structure. The building is made of red brick and stands three storeys tall, featuring three windows on each floor, all under segmental heads. Nos 2 and 4 have small paned sash windows, while No 6 has renewed casements. The second storey of Nos 2 and 4 has small, wide windows. No 6 also displays two sham timber framed gables and has a plain wood doorcase at its center. The roof is covered with slates. The building includes modern and early 19th-century shop fronts, with the former featuring glazing bars.
