Description

Hunger Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with 20th-century additions and alterations. The building features timber framing with whitewashed brick infill. It consists of a single-storey, single-cell section on the left and a two-storey, three-cell addition at right angles to it.

The entrance front shows the single-storey section to the left, which has five by three cells of small framing on a brick and stone plinth, with an angle brace in the upper right corner. This section includes two 20th-century two-light windows. To the right is the gable end of the three-cell addition, which also has a brick and stone plinth and four by three cells of small framing with angle braces. This part features two ground-floor two-light casement windows from the 20th century and a two-light casement window from the 19th century on the first floor. The gable has a queen-post truss. A 20th-century addition is located to the right of this section. Other exterior walls have been covered by 19th-century additions or rebuilt in the 20th century due to damage from wartime bombing.

Inside, the farmhouse retains stop-chamfered ceiling beams, small framing on the walls, and one surviving wattle and daub wall in the single-storey sections.
