Description

A mid-19th century lock keeper’s cottage, likely built to support the duplication of Locks Nos. 65 and 66 on the Trent and Mersey Canal. The cottage is constructed of red brick with a slate roof. It is two storeys high and has two bays. A projecting brick porch features a 19th-century four-panel door, barge boards, and a gabled roof. The windows are altered three-light casements with glazing bars, set within cambered arches. Gable end stacks and a clay tile ridge are also present. The building is listed for group value only.
