Description

The wall to the north of No 47 Front Street, known as Whitburn House, is a garden feature dating from the 14th century. It was re-erected between 1867 and 1869 by Thomas Barnes during the construction of Whitburn House. The wall is made of coursed rubble and includes a 4-light perpendicular window, which is believed to have been removed from St John's Church in Newcastle in 1848.
