Description
Tiffany's Club (west part) is a house, now part of a club, built around 1825 by architect John Dobson for himself. The building features incised stucco and has three storeys and a basement, with three bays. The first two storeys are framed by end pilasters, a honeysuckle frieze, and a cornice. All windows on these floors are sash windows set in architraves, with bracketed cornices on the ground floor. The second floor has sash windows in plain reveals, and all windows have glazing bars along with ground and second floor sill bands. There is an architrave and bracketed cornice above a four-panelled double door located in the second bay of the left return. Inside, the building showcases high-quality stucco work on the stair soffit and ceiling, as well as in the ground floor front and first floor rear rooms. A wide wreathed handrail is present on the hardboard-covered balustrade. The building is noted for its historical interest.
