Description
The Church of St Luke is a parish church built in 1904 by Hicks and Charlewood of Newcastle. It features uneven courses of squared stone with ashlar dressings and has a Welsh slate roof. The church is designed in a cruciform shape with aisles and includes a north-east tower topped with a turret instead of a spire. Its architectural style is a blend of Norman transitional and early English. Notable exterior elements include a large round east window situated above two levels of round-arched lights set in arcading. Inside, the church boasts a spacious interior characterized by high arches and octagonal nave piers.
