Description
The standing stone, located approximately 17 meters south of the Church of St. Cuthbert, dates to 1618 and is made of dressed sandstone. It features a tapered shaft that stands about 1.4 meters high. The west face has a gable-headed panel inscribed with "D?EA 1618," situated above a circular depression. The uppermost part of the east face also has a similar circular depression. The top of the south face is battered and has a scalloped depression. Surrounding all the depressions are lead-filled notches that contain remnants of iron fittings. The stone's function is currently unknown.
