Description

This garden wall, dating from around 1840, is attached to the south of Number 16, known as Bamburgh House. It features dressed stone and random rubble construction. The dressed-stone section is approximately 9 feet high and is located at the south-east corner of the house, where it includes a boarded door set within an alternating-block surround. The wall has a rounded corner that transitions into a rubble section, which slopes down to about 7 feet in height. The top of the wall is finished with flat coping. This structure is included for its group value with the adjacent house.
