Description
Nos. 12 and 13 on Front Street are two cottages built in the late 18th century. They are constructed from random rubble and topped with a Welsh slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and feature four bays with irregular openings. On the left side, there is an early 19th-century 15-pane shop window, next to a blocked door that has been converted into a window. To the right, there are two sash windows and a 20th-century door. The first floor has three sash windows and another blocked window. The roof is hipped on the left side, and there is a ridge stack. The doorway to No. 13 is located on the left return. Notably, No. 13 is the house where Grace Darling died, adding historical significance, while No. 12 is included for its group value.
