Description

A house and shop, likely dating from the 17th century, that was altered and extended during the 18th century. The front of the building is rendered, while the rear sections are built of random rubble; the roofs are covered in pantiles. The building is arranged in an L-shape, with a second span forming a re-entrant angle. It has two storeys and three windows. Number 35, on the right, features two broad bays and a 20th-century central door set within a corniced projecting stone surround. It has 20th-century casement windows in raised stone surrounds. Number 33 occupies the left bay and has a doorway set into a rounded corner. Sash windows are set within raised stone surrounds. The steeply-pitched gabled roof is punctuated by old brick end stacks. At the rear, there are stone steps leading to a door with six flush panels. The interior of the oldest part of the building, which is Number 35, has walls approximately 36 inches thick. Notable features include old arched timbers above the stairs leading down into a cellar.
