Description
The Old Chapel is a former Presbyterian church that was converted into a domestic dwelling in 2004. It dates from the mid-19th century and features a rendered exterior with a Welsh slate roof. The building is one tall storey with three bays. To the left, there is a round-headed doorway with a boarded door and a fanlight that has Y-tracery. Above this doorway is a similar small round-headed window. To the right, there are two tall windows that match the style of the other windows. The chapel has a gabled roof, and there is a T-plan projection at the rear that includes two similar windows in the gable end.
Inside, the chapel retains a gallery supported by iron columns, and Gothic railings create a screen in front of the pulpit. The Old Chapel aligns with the roof and street line of the adjacent buildings and is included for its group value.
