Description
This is a group of three stone coffins and a font bowl located 10 metres south of the porch of the Church of St. Andrew in Bothal Village. The coffins date from the medieval period and include two adult coffins and one child's coffin, all featuring shaped head pieces. The octagonal font bowl rests on various architectural fragments. The child's coffin was discovered beneath the south chancel wall during the restoration in 1887, while the font bowl originates from the site of the former church at Sheepwash.
