Description
Wooperton House is a house built around 1840, constructed of ashlar stone with a plinth and featuring a low-pitched, hipped Welsh slate roof. The building has two storeys, and the garden front is divided into four main sections with 2, 2, 3, and 3 windows. The two right sections may have been added slightly later and include shallow segmental bays in the first and third sections. The right-hand sections project from the main body of the house. There is an entablature above the ground floor window in the third section. The entrance front has three bays and includes a pilastered square central porch with a 20th-century door. All windows are 12-pane sashes. The left return has a plain three-bay facade, and there is a late 19th-century service wing at the rear, built from similar materials. This wing features an arched carriage entrance to the left and stone mullioned windows, with those on the first floor having raised corniced heads that break the eaves. The main house has deep eaves soffits supported by large paired stone brackets. Inside, there are six-panelled doors, panelled shutters, and an early 19th-century staircase.
