Description

The garden wall to the south of High Buston House dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of squared stone with cut dressings and stands 1.2 metres high. The wall features a low-pitched coping and connects to the north-west corner of the house, extending south to a broad gateway flanked by monolithic piers topped with banded pyramidal caps. Near the gate, there is a blocked arch at the foot of the wall. Beyond the gate, the wall continues for 18 metres, with the coping ramped down, ending against a bedrock outcrop. This structure is included for its group value.
