Description
The lodge at the park entrance, located 100 metres east of the Alnwick Abbey Gatehouse, was likely built around 1830. It is constructed from ashlar stone and features a Welsh slate roof, designed in a T-plan. The north elevation has one storey and consists of two bays. At the base, there is a plinth. The left bay projects and has a gabled roof, featuring a canted bay window with a three-light mullioned window and a moulded cornice, along with a small lancet window above. There is a stepped-and-corniced ridge stack with a double shaft. To the left, there is a lower pent-roofed porch that includes a half-glazed door. The right bay also has a stepped-and-corniced ridge stack and a coped right gable. The right return displays a three-light mullioned window beneath a lancet window with Gothick glazing bars. At the rear, there are two two-light windows. All windows are small-paned casements set in chamfered surrounds, complete with hoodmoulds. The gables feature pitched coping, moulded kneelers, and finials.
